About Us

Tipra Academicians’ Forum (TAF) was established on 17 May 2015 at Agartala, with the participation of academicians from various higher educational institutions belonging to the indigenous communities of Tripura. The Forum is a non-political, non-religious, and non-profit organization, committed to academic, social, and educational engagement.

TAF was formed with the objective of providing a common platform for academicians to interact, collaborate, and coordinate in addressing academic and societal issues through research, publications, seminars, and intellectual discourse, with particular focus on the challenges faced by indigenous communities of Tripura.
Tipra Academicians’ Forum is an association of permanent faculty members serving as Assistant Professors, Associate Professors, and Professors in colleges and universities across the country belonging to the indigenous communities of Tripura. The Forum seeks to make voluntary and meaningful contributions towards the strengthening of the education system, with special emphasis on supporting students from indigenous and underrepresented backgrounds, particularly those pursuing higher education.
Originally constituted as Tribal Academicians’ Forum, the organization was renamed as Tipra Academicians’ Forum following a unanimous resolution adopted during the 3rd Annual General Conference held on 30 April 2018 at the Conference Hall, Saheed Bhagat Singh Hostel, Agartala.
